Team Spotlight: President & Owner Tracey

Illustrated Designs, Inc.’s President and Owner, Tracey, discovered her love of marketing early as she watched her father build the company from scratch to a successful and dynamic business. After earning her BSBA in Management & Marketing from Kutztown University and working in retail management for a time, she joined the family business in 1997, starting out as an account manager.

In 2014 Tracey took ownership of the Illustrated Designs, Inc, and hasn’t looked back since. Honing her skills with a Marketing Strategy Certificate from Cornell University, Tracey provides account and project management, client relations, marketing consultations, and event and trade show exhibit support to a diverse clientele for a wide spectrum of projects.

A passion for marketing

The passion for marketing that first sparked with her family’s example grew as Tracey gained experience working with businesses over the years. She developed her ability to look at each client’s marketing materials and events with a fresh perspective, offering unique solutions to help them connect with their customers. And every time she learns something new that she can bring to a project, that passion strengthens and motivates her to continue learning and innovating.

In an industry that combines beauty with strategy, Tracey draws inspiration from her team. “I’m inspired by clever, witty people who not only create beautiful designs, but also have fun while creating,” she says.

The creative process

According to Tracey, it’s that synergy of talent and drive that produces truly great design—the kind that doesn’t just look good, but also gets extraordinary results for clients.

Some of her favorite projects showcase this synergy. A project for PECO saw almost the entire creative team collaborating on a series of interactive tabletop displays. “Our graphic designer, fabricator, audio/visual expert, and even our favorite voiceover talent worked with me to design and build some unique displays that are still in use two years later,” she says.

Her 20+ year collaboration with StylePlus highlights another element of the creative process that Tracey prizes: innovation. Working with the company for over two decades to produce their annual catalog, she explains that what she finds most rewarding in this long-standing relationship is its continual newness. “I think that every year it gets better, evolving as the industry, products, and client needs change—and that excites me. Instead of getting into a rut, we are able to keep a pulse on trends and improve their results time after time.”
